Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) issues are common for many patients. There are a broad range of conditions that affect your ears, nose and throat, and some of these problems can have a lasting effect on your health.
Our Doctors
ENT physicians are also known as Otolaryngologists. Otolaryngology is the medical and surgical specialty for problems of the ears, nose and throat. Our Jefferson Surgical physicians provide a wide range of preventative and corrective solutions for patients of all ages.
Common ENT Issues
Ears
- Ear infections: both adults and children can suffer from infections. Medical and sometimes surgical treatment may be required to correct this issue.
- Hearing loss: this can be a hereditary or acquired condition. Once the level of hearing loss has been determined through an examination, corrective treatment may include hearing aids and occasionally surgery.
- Wax impactions and ear canal dermatitis
Nose

- Allergies: for those suffering from severe seasonal and perennial allergies, ENT specialists may recommend treatments, such as allergy shots or sublingual allergy therapy (drops).
- Blocked Nasal Passages: treatments for this condition can be both medical and / or surgical, depending on the severity of the condition.
- Snoring and Sleep Apnea
- Tumors of the Nose: These can be benign or malignant, and once detected, usually require surgical removal.
