Charlie Harris jumped in with both feet, painting his boots orange, to get in the spirit of the GoOrange campaign.

The Staff at Jefferson Surgical Clinic presented a check this week for $1,500 to the Feeding America Southwest Virginia Food Bank in honor of the Clinic’s 16 physicians as part of the “Go Orange” campaign sponsored by FASWVA.

“We all feel privileged to be participating in such a worthwhile cause, and made this a company-wide initiative to collect ‘change for Change’ knowing it will benefit people right here in our community who are going hungry,” said Karen Tuttle, CEO of Jefferson Surgical Clinic. “It is gratifying and overwhelming to know that because of the efforts of FASWVA, our donation of $1,500 translates into $12,500 worth of food for those in need” she adds.

We’re hosting another free open house with Dr. Steven Harris on January 5th. He’ll answer your questions, talk about what’s involved in a mini facelift, and conduct mini consultations with attendants. Everyone is welcome to joins us for this education event. Sign up here!

From now until December 15th our staff is participating in the Change for Change fundraising event to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank. For every dollar we raise Second Harvest will be able to buy $8 worth of food for those in need. So we’re digging around in our pockets, checking the sofa cushions, jiggling the penny jars, and raiding our washing machines for loose change. Prizes will be awarded for Heaviest Collection, Highest Dollar Value Collection, and Favorite Collection Container. Stay tuned to find out who the winner is, and if you’d like to help a staff member raise change or just donate a little something for prosperity, feel free to offer some of your spare change to our general collection container the next time you’re at JSC for an appointment – or even if you’re just in the neighborhood.
