Colin T. Brandt, M.D., RPVI
Colin T. Brandt, M.D., RPVI, is a board-certified vascular surgeon who joined Jefferson Surgical Clinic in August 2016. He also serves as an assistant professor at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. He is a native of Long Grove, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Dr. Brandt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Political Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005.
He is a 2009 graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. While he was in attendance, Dr. Brandt was involved in clinical research with regional and national branches of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The ACS focuses on improving the quality of surgical care and continuing education – thus, creating leaders in the medical profession. Dr. Brandt held a leadership position and was an instructor for the Advanced Trauma and Life Support (ATLS) Course from 2010 to 2014.
He completed a General Surgery Residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan in 2014. There, Dr. Brandt was honored with the Anthony B. Chambers Award as the Best Chief Surgical Resident in 2014 and went on to complete a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia in 2016. He holds a certification from the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and is currently board eligible in Vascular Surgery. He is an associate member of the Society of Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Brandt’s goal for his patients is to improve their quality of life through optimal surgical management of their cardiovascular disease, using sound techniques and evidence based medicine.
When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Brandt enjoys spending time with his wife, Christine and daughter, Lena. His interests include outdoor activities, especially golf.
