Sinusitis is the inflammation of the nasal sinuses. It affects 37 million Americans each year, and can severely impact your quality of life and lead to significant healthcare costs. The Jefferson Surgical Clinic’s ENT specialists have a solution: Balloon Sinuplasty. It’s a non-surgical procedure that we perform in-office to alleviate your chronic sinusitis and the accompanying symptoms, including headaches, breathing difficulty, facial tenderness and a reduced sense of smell and taste. | Contact Information Jefferson Surgical Clinic Fax: (540) 345-2112 |
About Balloon Sinuplasty
For this procedure, a Jefferson Surgical Clinic ENT specialist inserts a catheter into the nose to reach the inflamed sinus. Then a small balloon is slowly inflated to gently widen and restructure the sinus passage walls, and drain blockage. Once normal mucus flow is restored, the balloon is carefully removed. There is no cutting involved, and the whole procedure can be performed in under two hours.
Studies show that after Balloon Sinuplasty, sinusitis symptoms do not return in 95% of patients (at an average follow-up period of 9 months), and many patients reported symptom improvement two years after the procedure. *
We perform the Balloon Sinuplasty procedure in the comfort of our offices, instead of sending you to a hospital and an unfamiliar physician. And because we don’t need to use general anesthesia for this procedure the treatment is more affordable than sinus surgery and you’ll recover faster.
