David P. Minichan, Jr., M.D., is a board-certified general surgeon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1951. Four years later Dr. Minichan graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He finished an internship at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington D.C., and completed surgical residencies at Jefferson Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, the University of Virginia Department of Surgery, and Andrews Air Force Base Hospital. He’s a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Minichan joined the Jefferson Surgical Clinic’s team of surgeons and specialists in 1964.

Dr. Minichan is from Roanoke, Virginia and is an avid fan and frequent attendee of Virginia Tech Hokies’ games. He also enjoys golf, outdoor sports, aviation and flying his own plane.
