March 20, 2020 - We remain vigilant as we monitor the ongoing changes occurring regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. We take seriously our responsibility to care for our community during these unprecedented times and we are taking every available measure to minimize the risks of passing illness on to others. To that end, we have implemented several new policies and check-in procedures to ensure the safety our patients, physicians, and staff:

  • For all patients, we are now checking forehead temperature upon arrival and will reschedule appointments for patients whose temperatures are higher than 99.6.
  • We are asking patients to remain in their cars until the exam room is ready – this policy is currently in effect for our downtown location and will soon be implemented in our locations across the Roanoke Valley.
  • We are limiting visitors to one person per patient.
  • We are no longer allowing representatives from pharmaceutical or medical equipment companies to meet in our facility.

We’d like to remind everyone that our primary mission is to provide the highest level of care in a safe, efficient manner and we work diligently to partner with you in treatment and surgical plans. That means rescheduling an appointment if you are sick with a fever or flu-like symptoms or have recently traveled outside of the country or to a high-risk region of the U.S. If you have any symptoms of illness, we ask that you call our office prior to arriving so we can discuss your options.

We remind everyone to:

  • Wash hands with soap and water frequently and use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available;
  • Stay home if you are sick;
  • Adhere to social distancing guidelines set by the CDC and avoid groups of more than 10 people.

For all patients, we are now checking forehead temperature upon arrival and will reschedule appointments for patients whose temperatures are higher than 99.6. Face masks, hand sanitizer, and gloves are also available in our building for those at who need them.
