James Callis Headshot
James T. Callis, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified vascular and general surgeon who joined Jefferson Surgical Clinic in 1990. He is a 1983 graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he also completed his general surgery training in 1989. Dr. Callis completed a vascular surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 1990. He holds a certification from the American Board of Surgery in general and vascular surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Currently, Dr. Callis resides in Roanoke with his wife, Joanne, and their two children. In his spare time, he’s a pilot, flying both airplanes and sailplanes. He also enjoys fly-fishing.
